We are pleased to be able to offer a Performance & Life Coaching service for people who experience difficulties in their everyday life, at home, college, university and work, as a result of Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD).
Coaching is for people who want to bring about change in their lives and achieve goals. It is a process where development and action planning is facilitated by a Coach, enabling the Coachee to move forward at their own pace within an equal and trusting professional coaching relationship. Coaching is not about advice giving, nor does not involve the Coach sharing their opinions.
Working with a Performance and Life Coach can help you to:
- Set practical, achievable goals
- Develop new skills
- Identify and build on your strengths
- Develop strategies and techniques to help overcome difficulties
- Develop a greater understanding of yourself
Goals might be to: be more organised and effective at home and/or in work; increase self-confidence in specific situations; develop more effective personal care and domestic skills strategies; be able to relate to other people more effectively; improve time management or improve self-management of sensory sensitivities.
The service is tailored to your needs and can be offered face-to-face, via Skype, by phone or a combination of any or all of these and costs £85 per hour. The duration and frequency of the coaching support varies according to the needs of each individual. We usually recommend that the first introductory coaching session lasts for 1½ hours and is conducted over the phone or via Skype.
Our therapist and performance coach Rosalind Smithson has a wealth of experience helping people with Dyspraxia and other difficulties such as anxiety and depression.
