DO I HAVE DYSPRAXIA?

Go to our symptom checklists to see if you may have this condition.

To diagnose it requires a medical history, observations and Standardised Tests – including movement, hand-eye coordination, and sensory perception to confirm a diagnosis. This is carried out by a specially trained Occupational Therapist such as our therapists at Dyspraxia UK.

An Educational Psychologist may assess using a WAIS IQ Test to indicate the ‘likelihood’ of dyspraxia, if the difference between the verbal IQ is markedly greater than the performance IQ. However, the IQ test is not designed as a diagnostic test for dyspraxia and, though it is useful, does not tell you the whole picture, or what practical strategies will help with movement or sensory or learning difficulties.

If you can fund both this is fine, but if you can only fund one specialist report the Occupational Therapy Assessment gives you an in depth diagnosis and many practical suggestions and recommendations to overcome the challenges of dyspraxia.
